The time to act is now.
PFAS, toxic "forever" chemicals, have infiltrated every aspect of our lives, impacting our health, our drinking water, and our livelihoods. Help us confront PFAS today!
The Rivers Need You, Now More Than Ever!
PFAS, or "forever chemicals", are threatening the very health of our communities. Federal regulations are lacking - this is where PRKN comes in. We put pressure on local and state governments to put PFAS regulations in place and enforce them! We track PFAS down to the source and hold those responsible accountable. PFAS contamination and impacts are burgeoning, and not enough is being done to stop it. We will.
Looking Ahead - Tackling PFAS in 2026
In 2026, we will continue our work to investigate PFAS pollution from wastewater treatment plants, military installations, and land applications of biosolids throughout our watershed. With your support, we will fight to hold government and industry accountable for polluting our farmlands, natural places, drinking water, and your local streams and rivers with toxic forever chemicals.
Farming families throughout the Potomac watershed have a right to know exactly how much PFAS are in the biosolids they put on their land, and the consequences for their soils and groundwater. Watershed residents also have a right to clean water for drinking, swimming, and fishing - so please join us next year in advocating for PFAS controls for wastewater treatment plants and other sources throughout the Potomac.
